IMPORTANT !
If you receive the following or similar error when running 'Kid-ID.exe' for the FIRST time.
You will need to install the .NET Framework software that is included on the USB or CD-Rom.
The file to install is ‘dotnetfx.exe’.
How
to install and use your Kid-ID-in-a-Flash software.
1. Place
the round CD-Rom Disc in to your CD-Rom drive.
2. The
Kid-ID-in-a-Flash program should run automatically.(If it doesn’t, a window
should appear displaying the files on the drive. Double-click on the file
‘Kid-ID.exe)
3. On
the top right of the program Select your child from the Drop down labeled
‘Retrieve Saved Child Information’
4. Enter
the last name of the child that you selected when prompted.
5. Now
click on the ‘Save’ button at the bottom of the program window. You will be
prompted to Save your program to a location on your computer. Select a folder to
save the Kid-ID-in-a-Flash.
6. Select
the C: drive and create a folder called ‘Kid-ID’.
7. Click
‘Open’, Then ‘Save’, Then OK.
8. Now
click on the ‘Copy Program’ button in the bottom right of the program
screen.
9. Enter
your password (Min 5 Characters). Click ‘OK’, then ‘Save, then ‘OK’
again.
Now
you are ready to run your Kid-ID-in-a-Flash software.
1. Click
on the ‘START’ Button in the lower right corner of your desktop.
2. Click
‘RUN’, Type in
‘c:\Kid-ID\Kid-ID.exe’
3. Enter
your ‘Password’
4. Now
you can complete or modify or add a new child’s information to the
program.
To
add Photos to your Kid-ID-in-a-Flash software.
1. Right
click on the ‘Photo 1’ box
2. Select
‘New Image’.
3. If
you have a web camera connected to your computer, click on ‘Start Preview’, then
‘Capture Image.
4. If
you want to import an image from disk, the select ‘Load From Disk’, Browse to
the location on your computer where you have stored the desired photo, select
the photo image and click ‘OK’.
5. Repeat
for the image locations (2,3 and 4), if desired.
When
you are done editing the form, be sure to ‘SAVE’ your
information.
1. To
save your information, click on the ‘SAVE’ button at the bottom of your screen.
Then click ‘Save’.
To
create your Business Card CD.
1. Insert
the Business card CD into your CD-R drive.
2. Now
click on the ‘Save’ button at the bottom of the program window. You will be
prompted to Save your program to a location on your computer. Select the CD-R
drive.
3. Click
‘Save’, Then OK.
4. Now
click on the ‘Copy Program’ button in the bottom right of the program
screen.
5. Enter
your password. Click ‘OK’,
6. Select
the CD-Rom drive. Then click on ‘Save, then ‘OK’ again.
7. Then
you should be prompted that ‘You have Files waiting to be written to the
CD’
8. Then
click on the ‘Balloon’ in the bottom right of your Desktop.
9. Then
select the ‘Write these files to CD’ from the right side menu (under ‘CD Writing
Tasks).
10. Name
the CD ‘Kid-ID’, then click ‘NEXT’
11. Then click ‘Finish’. If you don’t want to create another copy, select ‘Yes, write these files to another CD’.
How
to Print Flyers.
1. Run
Kid-ID-in-a-Flash program.
2. On
the top right of the program Select your child from the Drop down labeled
‘Retrieve Saved Child Information’.
3. Click
on the ‘Print Flyer’ link on the bottom left of the screen.
4. Fill
in the additional print information.
5. Click
on the ‘Continue’ Button.
6. A
Browser window will open that will display the ‘Flyer’.
7. To
print this flyer, just click the print button in your browser.
How
to Print ID cards.
1. Run
Kid-ID-in-a-Flash program.
2. On
the top right of the program Select your child from the Drop down labeled
‘Retrieve Saved Child Information’.
3. Click
on the ‘Print ID Card’ link on the bottom center of the screen.
4. Fill
in the additional print information.
(ignore
the ‘incident’ and ‘Agency’ contact information fields)
5. Click
on the ‘Continue’ Button.
6. A
Browser window will open that will display the ‘ID Card’.
7. To
print this ‘ID Card, just click the print button in your browser.
